"If you're getting ready to walk down the aisle, drop me a line at:

and we'll work together to create some photo memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.

Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer

My name is Sam Kessler. I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Montgomery, NY in Orange County. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City where I spent the first 35 years of my life. I started taking photos when I was a teenager with my father's cameras. I have had the opportunity to photograph pro sporting events, live music throughout the five Boros, and some of the most famous architecture making up the most iconic skyline in the world. Photographing weddings and portraits however is the one area of photography that I find I enjoy the most. No other type of photography allows the viewer to get a glimpse into the emotions and feelings of a scene like when working with people.

Pro Wedding Photographer

When I got married to the love of my life, we decided that even though we did not have a lot of money, a pro wedding photographer was the one thing we would not compromise on. We could have had friends or a local cheap wedding photographer shoot the wedding, but we wanted the results that only can come from a professional using the best equipment available coupled with years of experience behind the camera. The results we received were nothing short of amazing. The wedding photos we received are hanging in our home as well of the homes of our parents. You really get what you pay for and the product we received exceeded our expectations. The photographer that we used recently passed away and looking back at his work now takes on a special meaning to me and my wife as to how valuable is is to capture those once in a lifetime moments.

Affordable Wedding Photographer

I certainly wouldn't say that I am a cheap wedding photographer but I would say that I am an affordable wedding photographer. Cheap would indicate that shortcuts are taken and compromises are made. I only used top of the line professional cameras, lenses, lights, and software to produce photos that could not have been produced any other way. And I offer a straight forward and reasonable pricing model that gives you the ability to get the results you deserve with a price you can live with.

LGBTQ Friendly Wedding Photographer

The officiant at my own wedding was married himself on the very first day of legalized gay marriage in San Francisco, California. The day he married his partner, it was raining heavily so the two grooms donned yellow rain slickers before going outside for the big reveal to the swarm of press photographers. The photo of the couple that ran the following day in the newspaper, recording a historic display of love and equality was made all the more vibrant by their matching bright yellow rain jackets. This was a serendipitous moment captured forever because the photographers were in the right place at the right time, anticipating the moment. That is the difference between a professional and an amateur: anticipation of the moment. And speaking of differences, there is no difference between a man and a women in love and two men or two women. Love is love and it is always beautiful, and deserves to be cherished and celebrated.

Last Minute Wedding Photos

It happens all the time. You plan well in advance, make sure all the details are accounted for, and something goes awry. The florist broke his arm (happened to me) and the cake designer has a heart attack and is in the hospital the week before your big day (also happened to me). What do you do when your plans fall through and you need a last minute replacement for your wedding photographer? Well, you can call me. I have the luxury of a flexible schedule as an FDNY Fireman, a central living location and a reliable vehicle. With a few days notice, I can be most anywhere within a full gas tank of New York City. I also own all my equipment, so there is no need to wait for rental gear to become available during busy summer wedding season. It is ideal to plan ahead. Meet the couple few times prior to the wedding to iron out details, have an engagement shoot to get familiar with the bride and groom to be, photograph the rehearsal dinner to learn the keys players the day of the nuptials, but life doesn't always deal us a good hand. Sometimes things fall apart and you need a reliable professional who can adapt and be prepared for a difficult situation on a moment's notice. I can be there for you when nobody else can.

Actor Headshots and Corporate Headshots

In addition to the hectic nature of a wedding, I am also available to create Headshots and Portraits whether they be for an acting portfolio, a corporate website, or simply a Facebook profile page. We can either create an environmental portrait in a location carefully scouted out in your area, or we can create a the look of a studio with my mobile studio set up. I can bring a variety of backdrops from plain white seamless to textured and patterned background in conjunction with my studio strobes to present a clean, professional look.

Also serving

New York City, New Jersey, Long Island, I am a life long New Yorker, and have spent extensive time traveling around the North East. I have experience in all points on Long Island, both Nassau and Suffolk, all the way out to Montauk. I will gladly travel into New York City or the surrounding metro area or the surrounding counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam counties. In addition to Bergen and Monmouth County in North Jersey, there are some amazing wedding venues all down the Jersey shore including Ocean and Atlantic county. Eastern Pennsylvania in and around Bucks county is a short drive for me. Even Connecticut is within a day's trip, which is the primary consideration for me. If I can be in bed with my wife the same night, I would have no hesitation traveling for your big day.

Destination weddings

Destination weddings are never out of the question, as it would give me and my wife an excuse to travel someplace beautiful. Don't be afraid to ask. In life, you only get what you ask for, and I find I have a difficult time saying "no". You bring the personalities, and I'll bring my camera gear.

Thanks for reading. I hope to hear from you soon.
